The
proposed Fiscal Year 13 budget provides
total funds of $466.8 million, which is a decrease of $38.9 million or 7.7%
below the previous year's level of $505.7 million all funds.
The
proposed budget:
Reduces
the Breast and Cervical Cancer GRF Lump Sum by $3.3 million, or 19.4% below
FY12 appropriations.
Reduces
HIV/AIDS GRF Lump Sum by $4.0 million, or 13.6% below FY12 appropriations.
The
following GRF programs are being eliminated:
- Expenses Associated with Sudden Infant
Death Syndrome (SIDs);
- Operational Expenses of Maintaining the
Vital Records System;
- ALS Research;
- Expenses Associated with the Prostate
Cancer Awareness and Screening Program;
- University of Chicago Transplant Section
for Juvenile Diabetes.
Increases
Local Health Protection Grants for Health Protection Programs by $171,000, or
1.0% over the FY12 appropriation.
Creates
a new other state funds program for Expenses Associated with the Illinois
Adoption Registry and Medical Information Exchange at a cost $125,000.
Increases
other state funded Mosquito Abatement in an Effort to Curb the Spread of West
Nile Virus by $1.9 million, or 59.4% over the FY12 appropriation.
