State Senator Donald P. DeWitte (R-St. Charles) will serve as the Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Transportation Committee in the 101st General Assembly.
In addition to making policy decisions relating to transportation infrastructure and safety, the Transportation Committee oversees state transportation concerns pertaining to rules, regulations and licensure matters.
Illinois is one of the largest transportation hubs in the countryencompassing miles of interstates, bridges, rails and waterways, said DeWitte. Having served on the Regional Transportation Authority for the past five years, I look forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to the table and working with my colleagues through some of the states most pressing transportation issues.
Sen. DeWitte has also been appointed to serve as the Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Government Accountability and Pensions Committee, and will serve as a member of the Education, Local Government, Revenue, Appropriations II, and Telecommunications & Info Technology committees.
