McHenry County College, College of Lake County to see thousands for repairs
Millions of dollars in capital funding have been released to community colleges statewide as part of the Fiscal Year 2019 capital budget. Of those funds, McHenry County College will see $153,130 and College of Lake County will see $348,795 in state funding to help with campus repair projects. In addition, both colleges will receive local funds bringing their totals to $800,000 and $600,000 respectively.
“These funds are much needed in order for our community colleges to move forward with basic repairs and updates,” said Sate Sen. Pamela Althoff. “The capital funding was included in this year’s budget and ensures colleges across the state are able to make necessary maintenances.”
The funds received by McHenry County College will go toward repairing roof top units, installing new installation, and replacing duct work. College of Lake County will use the funds to repair its gym floor, which currently contains mercury.
