State Sen. Neil Anderson’s 36th Senate District will see nearly $91 million in roads and bridges improvements the upcoming fiscal year. The projects are part of Illinois Department of Transportation’s (IDOT) Improvement Program.
“It’s no secret, Illinois’ roads, bridges, and other infrastructure are in dire need of repair,” Anderson said. “These things are critical to the economy, commerce, and simply getting around safely. I am pleased IDOT is making infrastructure improvements a priority. These projects will create hundreds of jobs for our area and ensure our roads and bridges are safe for everyone.”
The major project in the area is $82 million for the new I-74 Bridge over the Mississippi River. Whiteside County and Henry County are also set to see several road and bridge improvement projects.
