State Sen. Bill Brady (R-44th District) is co-sponsoring a measure in the Illinois Senate that would prohibit lawmakers from receiving a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) in the Fiscal Year 2019 budget. “As we continue working toward a balanced budget, it is imperative we lead by example and not accept any pay increases,” said Brady. House Bill 5760 would also prohibit automatic raises to statewide constitutional officers. It would further ensure lawmakers do not receive any increase to their daily per diem and mileage reimbursement rate.
