State Senator Michael Connelly (R-Naperville) is one of only eight Illinois senators to earn a perfect score on the 2017 Legislative Scorecard released by the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA).
Sen. Connelly has received a 100 percent rating for his support of legislation having to do with the state’s manufacturing sector designed to strengthen the state’s job climate.
“I am extremely thrilled to receive a perfect score for the second year in a row from the TMA,” said Connelly. “It is of the utmost importance that I support legislation that aides in the creation of manufacturing jobs. With jobs leaving our state in record numbers, it’s vital that the General Assembly pass legislation that supports manufacturing businesses in Illinois. Manufacturing businesses provide thousands of jobs across the state and are a key component of a thriving economy.”
TMA President Steve Rauschenberger says the ratings are designed to help the business and manufacturing communities identify those legislators, like Senator Connelly, who have made special contributions in the defense of jobs growth and the furtherance of economic opportunities for Illinoisans.
"I have hope that Illinois will once again support our job creators because of leaders like Senator Connelly,” said Steve Rauschenberger, President of the Technology & Manufacturing Association (TMA). “His 98 lifetime score, as shown in our 2017 Legislative Scorecard, is the highest of any Illinois Senator who has served for more than two years. If more of our leaders in Springfield followed Senator Connelly's lead, we could see our manufacturing sector in Illinois flourish."
Senator Connelly’s support of manufacturing in Illinois goes well beyond 2017. In 2016 he received a 100 percent, and in 2015 and 2014 he received a 95 percent.
