Senator Tim Bivins is being honored for his work in the Illinois General Assembly by organizations representing the manufacturing sector and civic park districts.
The Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) recognized Senator Bivins for his pro-manufacturing voting record in the General Assembly.
The TMA rates the voting record of every lawmaker in regard to legislation that affects manufacturers and businesses. Senator Bivins received a perfect 100 percent rating for 2017, and has a lifetime rating from the TMA of 90 percent.
“The residents fleeing Illinois in record numbers are evidence that we need to do things differently in Springfield. The first step is to support our job creators so we can restore Illinois to its former premier place in America’s manufacturing. That’s why we are proud to congratulate Senator Bivins for his 100% rating in TMA’s 2017 Legislative Scorecard,” said Steve Rauschenberger, TMA President.
Senagor Bivins has also been named a 2017 Outstanding Legislator of the Year by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD), largely for his sponsorship of a new law that states that if the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) ascertains the prevailing wage for a public body, then the public body can satisfy the newspaper publishing requirement by posting the IDOL hyperlink detailing the prevailing wages on their website.
“IAPD’s legislative successes would not be possible without your leadership,” Peter Murphy, IAPD President/CEO, wrote in a letter to Senator Bivins. “Again, thank you for your tremendous support of Illinois park districts.”
